I'm don't know about cars.(Noob)
Can I change by my self, the radiator coolant system?
If i could, please tell me details and please be specific. Thank you.How to change 1995 Grand Cherokee radiator coolant system.?You mean the anti-freeze? There's a drain on the bottom of the radiator. Open it up, let it run into a pan. Stick a hose into the top and let it run, till the water is clean. Shut the drain, put in antifreeze,(at least 1/2 coolant) start it and let it run slow. Keep adding until it's full. Done. How to change 1995 Grand Cherokee radiator coolant system.?The best way to learn is to take a trip to your local auto parts store and purchase a sevice manuel on your specific vehicle such as: Hayse, chiltons, etc. It's like having a mechanic there to walk you through the process on any and every mechanical repair on your vehicle.

How often are you suppost to change the transmission oil, and coolant?
I have a 2008 Chevy Cobalt LS with 21,000 miles. I usully change the motor oil every 3,000 miles, but I have never changed the transmission oil or the coolant. Do i need to change it soon? How often are you suppost to change the transmission oil, and coolant? If you have red coolant, every 5 years. If blue every 3 years, if green, every year.
Manual transmission oil every 50,000 miles. Automatic transmission every 25,000 miles. Brake fluid every 50,000 miles. Power steering fluid every 50,000 miles. How often are you suppost to change the transmission oil, and coolant? The first thing you want to do is reach into your glove box and get your operators manual. It will give you the manufacturers schedule of maintenance. This does vary from manufacturers.
As a rule of thumb though you want to change your engines oil @ every 3000 miles. Some of the newer engines require synthetic oil and the intervals are much greater.
As far as antifreeze goes you want to check it every fall with an antifreeze tester. You can pick them up cheap at any parts store. Check your coolants protection level. A good 50-50 mix of ethanol glycol and water will put the protection at its best level.
If you can't find that operators manual all you need to do is call your local dealership that makes your make of car/truck. They will be more than happy to give you the information. How often are you suppost to change the transmission oil, and coolant?Transmission fluid, if it's an automatic, every 25,000 miles. Coolant once a year. How often are you suppost to change the transmission oil, and coolant?Coolant every 36,000 miles
Engine oil, every 2,000, why you ask does the engine stop running while you sit at a red light? You all could potentially have over 5,000 miles on your engine, and three thousand on the tires.

Just bought a honda cbr f4. how do i change the transmission oil?
is the transmission oil and engine oil the same? also i just bought it it has 10,000 miles due to the guy not riding it often so it has sat alot he said. its a 2000 cbr f4. should i clean the carbs? also what else should i do should i change the coolant fluid and flush it. it runs great already no problems just wondering what i should check and change before riding it. also i have noticed the front brakes jump when pressed hard they dont slow the bike smoothly they jump i checked the pads there practically new how can i get them to smooth out? the rear are perfect. any help appreciated thanks.Just bought a honda cbr f4. how do i change the transmission oil?engine oil/ transmission oil... same thing.
could change the coolant.. wont do any harm..
I try %26amp; work on the premise ... If it ain't broke.. Don't fix it..
Brakes jump?? not sure what this means.. but front brakes are REALLY IMPORTANT,, so get them looked at..
BUT.. now to the soap box..
If your asking these questions then I guess your a newbie to bikes... so the 600cc sports bike is not a good learner bike,,, would suggest you are carefull cos it will bite you,, %26amp; it will hurt..Just bought a honda cbr f4. how do i change the transmission oil?Engine and transmission use the the same oil sump. Use 10w-30 or 10w-40 with API SF, SG, SH, SL, or SM. Typically oil type and volume are near, or on the fill plug.
Use a fuel system cleaner like STP or Techron to clean the carbs. Do NOT take the carbs apart, or off the bike unless you are an excellent, experienced and trained M/C mechanic.
If the coolant looks clean, don't replace or flush, just make sure the level is correct.
Jumpy front brakes? How about surging brakes like a warped or bent rotor(s). Pads won't help. Have the rotors checked.
Before riding, check tires and pressure, lube chain and check tension, check brake, clutch and throttle controls for adjustment and smooth action, check lights.

How often should you maintain your car?
1. oil, lube, filter: oil change - 3000 miles or 3 months. How often should I change lube? Filter?
2. At this time, I can also ask the mechanic to fill up my tires. Should I fill up my tires more often than 3 months?
3. power steering fluid - How long does it last or how often should I change?
4. coolant/anti-freeze - How long does it last or how often should I change?
5. break fluid - How long does it last or how often should I change?
6. Transmission fluid - How long does it last or how often should I change?
7. Differences in regular, mid-grade, and premium gasoline. Is premium necessarily the best? How often should I fill up premium gasoline?
8. windshield wiper blades - How long do they last or how often should I change?
9. freons - How long does it last? How can I maintain my car so the freons lasts the maximum?
10. How often should I wash my car? Wax?
11. How often should I clean the interior?
12. Am I leaving out anything else?
The reason I ask these questions is because I want to maintain my vehicle myself as much as possible. The only exception is oil, lube, and filter change and freons. Thank you. I would greatly appreciate your help. How often should you maintain your car?long list and easy to say you do it everyday every week and every month
first one 3000 miles oil and filter rotate tires check tire monthly or more wil save life of tire and get better fuel mileage
power steering fluid really dont have to ever been change just toped off
coolant/anti-freeze top off change like every three yrs
break fluid top off never change
Transmission fluid check like oil change oil and filter but like at 60,000 120,000 miles
has for fuel buy at place you stop at most offen fil with best they have set mileage drive til you need more try next octane level set mileage used the one that gets the best miles which will vary with each place knowing a few brands and type to use but most cars will run fine on them all but using the one that gets yourcar the best mileage is the one you want to use
windshield wiper blades once a yr
freons have it check once a yr
wash when dirty wax every other time or about four times or so a year when ever you feel like it has for
cleaning insides when ever
wheel alignment once a yr or if you see tires are wearing or it drives funny as for wheel rotation easy to remember to do it with oil change about every 3000 miles its not so much as when to but to do most people dont do it at all heres a couple sites that you can find how to's and when
How often should you maintain your car?Read your cars manual. It will tell you how often to service and what to do when you service it.
You should check your tyres as often as you can and definately before long journeys. You should get a pump.
Differences in petrol(gas) are only the octane rating, use regular unless your car requires premium. (Read the manual)
Freon is a trade name, but I assume you mean air conditioning refrigerant, you don't need to do anything with this unless your air conditioning stops working.
You clean your car when it gets dirty... I wax mine every time I wash it.. and I wash it a lot. It is personal preferance.
Wheel alignment I'd have done every year, unless you notice a problem. Make sure you get a 4 wheel alignment if you drive a rear wheel drive car.How often should you maintain your car?Every car make is a little different, look in your service manual it'll have all that info.

Do I need any tools to remove the petcock from my radiator to drain the coolant on a 99 olds intrigue?
I found this, but I cant seem to get the petcock off with just my hands:
On the radiator (lower drivers side facing the motor) there is a plastic like plug that you turn counter clockwise about 3/4 of a turn, then you can pull it out about 1/2 an inch this will drain the radiator, then you can push the plug back in and turn it until you feel it lock back in place. (from http://wiki.answers.com/Q/How_do_you_cha )Do I need any tools to remove the petcock from my radiator to drain the coolant on a 99 olds intrigue?I 2nd both previous comments. Plastic parts love to break. Twist it GENTLY. If it seems it doesn't want to budge, undo the hose-clamp %26amp; drain via the lower hose. I've done it so many times this way. Watch you don't get splashed when you pop the hose off. It'll come out really fast.Do I need any tools to remove the petcock from my radiator to drain the coolant on a 99 olds intrigue? You could use a pair of pliers VERY carefully though! Anything plastic loves to break...Do I need any tools to remove the petcock from my radiator to drain the coolant on a 99 olds intrigue? That is the right way to do it, only on a car that is almost 10 years old, that plug is probably in there pretty tight. The rubber seals like to bond to the plastic parts and not come out. I have broken many. Your best bet is to remove the lower radiator hose and drain it that way.

2001 Honda shadow (motorcyle).....having trouble changing the coolant....help??!!??
There appears to be an air bubble in the coolant system preventing it from being topped off. Tried running it, and %26quot;blipping%26quot; the throttle, but I can't get the bubbles out. How else can I get the bubbles out??? Please only serious answers. Thanks! =D2001 Honda shadow (motorcyle).....having trouble changing the coolant....help??!!??Hold the bike level (as if you were sitting on it).
While the engine is cold, remove the radiator cap and top it up with coolant.
Leave the radiator cap off.
Start the bike and let it run.
As the coolant circulates, any air pockets will eventually make it to the radiator cap opening and escape.2001 Honda shadow (motorcyle).....having trouble changing the coolant....help??!!??The guy that hosts these pages is an aircraft mechanic that does his own work.
If his advice doesn't do it you probably don't have a problem.
You may need to ride it till the fan comes on.
