How do you change a water pump on a 89 accord LXi?

I am using the Haynes Manual, however the book shows it very simply. When i look in the engine, i have to remove three belts just to get to the water pump. Replacing the pump should be relatively straight forward. Getting to it is the problem.

Reason why i want to change it, is because my car makes a rough knocking/gurgling sound when i accelerate or idle at a high rpm, and i think that my current water pump is clogged up and not allowing coolant to get through the engine block.

Any suggestions out there? How do you change a water pump on a 89 accord LXi?if you hear a knocking sound it might be the idler pulley, not the water pump. If it is the water pump it should have been replaced when you replace the timing belt at approx 55k miles. You have to remove the timimg belt to replace the water pump. It is a major repair bill if you have someone do it.How do you change a water pump on a 89 accord LXi?If the water pump was the problem, you would see the temperature rise on the engine. I doubt this is the problem. You should take the car to a mechanic to troubleshoot. How do you change a water pump on a 89 accord LXi?look guy if it's not leaking then thats not your problem what you need is an idler pulley if your car is overheating and not leaking then check your thermostat and radiator good luck

you may need to have the computer reset. see if autozone can reset it, if not take it to a dealer and tell them that you added some coolant and its reading wrong.

How much should I sell my 1994 toyota camry LE for?

It is in good condition, minor front paint damage but nothing too bad.

Just changed spark plugs, breaks, oil, coolant, and fixed the radiator.

Nothing else seems to be wrong with it.

Differences between what cars are worth in New York City, Miami, or Des Moines, Iowa.

But for a 1994, with minor damage, and new parts, you didn't say how many miles, which is equally important as how old it is---I'd expect it to have 150K miles at least on it, closer to 200K miles.

So I'd say that you could ask $1500 average for it. The most factor will be outside cosmetics, if interior and rst of car is good.

Sometimes, you could ask for $2000 and expect lower. But depending upon your market area, $1200 probably would be least to expect for it.

Actually.......THIS CAR IS ONLY WORTH ABOUT $100!!!! IT'S IN SUCH BAD SHAPE, IT'S NOT WORTH A JUNKYARD TO COME GET IT. So just let me send you the $100 and I'll come get the car as a favor to you, of course.......I'm willing to lose money on the deal......

so i have a coolant leak and i changed the water Pump and i got a new serpentine belt and added more coolant but its still leaking i bought a stop leak but im not sure how to use it or if it will work can anyone help me what do you think it is?..... it was leaking before and i think the leak is coming from the water pump or the coolant tank because that's where i see it when it drips i think it might be that its not fully tight or that i need to put the sealing cream i know its not the radiator i don't know now but thanks for every-ones answers if all nothing works im taking it to a proMy coolant is leaking? i have a 1998 chevy Cavalier? Is it a 2.2L engine? If so its probably the head gasket. Pretty common problem with that motor and I can tell you where to look on the motor to see if its leaking. Look on the right hand side of the engine. On the front right corner where the head meets the block. Let it run until its good and hot and thermostat opens. After a few cycles of the t-stat you will start to see coolant bubbling out of that corner. My coolant is leaking? i have a 1998 chevy Cavalier? If the coolant is leaking from the over flow tank, or bottle, get a new radiator cap, as it's weak and letting the coolant out of the radiator.

Any radiator shop will pressure test the system to pin point the leak.My coolant is leaking? i have a 1998 chevy Cavalier?if it,s leaking around the water pump maybe the gasket slipped when you put the pump on.

Ford Lancer 96 with loud squeaking turning left, soft grinding turning right, dash light on and overheating?

When I got the car you could smell gas when the heater or AC was turned on. I recently got a new tire and rotation and since then it seems when I turn left a little, I hear a high pitch squeek that disappears if I turn really hard. If the same pressure is to the left, I hear a soft grinding noise. I was going to get this fixxed but today I saw a little light come on the dash. It's red and looks like a tank with an arrow pointing down from the openning and a liquid line below that near the bottom of the tank. Not long after, I smelled burning rubber and noticed the dash thermaumeter was dangerously close to (H)ot. I can't seem to pin point when it goes hot, but I doubt it's during turns. I am not sure what is wrong with the car (liquids to add or change,) how to add coolant if needed (something about 50/50 solution to a specific grade?) and if something is wrong with the tires or mounting. I also hear a light tumbling noise like something in the trunk, but it never gets louder over bumpFord Lancer 96 with loud squeaking turning left, soft grinding turning right, dash light on and overheating?check ur wheel ball joints n bearings left n right n also check the disc brake n brake pads.dash light on is wiring problem n overheating is ur cooling system not in proper ventilation,so check ur radiator, flush it n clean, pour in some radiator coolant.ask ur mechanic to check the engine block if it's crack, then change the gasket head n the lub oil together with the new oil filter.good luck.Ford Lancer 96 with loud squeaking turning left, soft grinding turning right, dash light on and overheating?Strongly suggest unloading lemon while still driveable.

How do i fix overheating problem?

I have a 97 Acura 3.2 TL that keeps overheating. It was ok until it overheated on my sister, than after that I haven't been able to fix it. I've changed the radiator, coolant sensor, thermostat, water pump, and upper radiator hose. Just about all I can think about other than the head gasket. Every time I put in something new thinking it's the problem and take it for a test drive the pressure builds up so high that it pushes all the coolant out from the reservoir. Please help!!!How do i fix overheating problem?Head GasketHow do i fix overheating problem?you may think this is a stupid question, but is the fan hooked up? I had a mechanic change my water pump and he forgot to plug my fan back in.How do i fix overheating problem?Sounds like it could be the head gasket, cracked block or head. Try a compression test. Could be a blockage in the cooling system too, not common but not unheard of. Also as mentioned, is the cooling fan connected/kicking in?How do i fix overheating problem?a good way to know if it is the head gasket is to check for bad exhaust. if you have white smoke coming from the exhaust or any water leaking then it is definitely a blown head gasket. this sounds like an obstructed hose maybe a hose that leads to the engine collapsed or is clogged so u must check every single hose that has coolant running through it. if the coolant is pushing out of the reservoir it is not holding the pressure which means you need a new reservoir cap that may be the main issue. the reservoir cap has a gasket which may be worn out because im guessing you still have the stock one from 1997. I had the same problem with my car i have a 1995 grand am trust me things are going to start wearing out like this. check the reservoir cap if it looks deteriorated then replace it.

good luckHow do i fix overheating problem?what you can do to eliminate or confirm a head gasket problem is to go to pep boys or even harbor freight tools and purchase a head / block test kit for around $15.00 follow the directions and you will know from there.

if you have a weak radiator cap, that will cause the coolant to be forced out of the radiator before it's time, take the cap to your local repair shop and have them test the cap, it should hold the pressure that is indicated on the top. usually it ranges from 13psi to 18 psi
