if the smoke was blue then the rings or valve seals would be the cause
if there is water in the oil, it tends to wash out the main and rod and camshaft bearings.
any kind of repair like this should be done by a pro, for if this is something you have never done, it could be compared to a medical student performing open heart surgery.
Mysuggestion is take the car to a shop and have a block test done. What it does is checks for emissions(burnt gas and air)that are in the coolant. You most likely have a blown head gasket, and the bearing issues I mentioned dont happen in all cases, but be prepared for it. T he mechanic would be able to diagnose and tell by first doing the block check, and then could change the oil and filter to find a knock if one is there, for it will not show this until fresh oil is put in
