How to change Coolant in a Cooling System?

Can you just add the coolant into the cooling system or do you HAVE TO drain it out first? Is draining a necessity? How to change Coolant in a Cooling System?if you want to change the coolant you must drain the present one. To add is only putting over a reduced level of coolant. Change is indicated when there is dirt and rust in the fluid and you are sure there is no leakage. If there is leakage, add on the reduced level then repair the leakage then think of changing the coolant.

You must know that the circuit of coolant in the car passes through channels around the engine to take off heat and then go to pass by the radiator to get rid of this heat. These are separated by the water thermostat which intend to keep the temperature around the engine suitable for the ignition of fuel.

It is better to drain the coolant while the engine is warmed to make that thermostat open first to drain the amount of coolant in the channels around the engine. This is done by disconnect the hose coming from the engine body to the most lower part of the radiator. But of course %26quot;BE CAUTIOUS%26quot; as you will open it while the engine is warm and the coolant fliud will be very hot and will cause scald if come in contact with the skin.

If you wish to wash the coolant circle, then remove the thermostat and bypass it by a hose (to prevent it from closing) and open the radiator opening and add water in it while still draining at the bottom. when the fluid coming is clear, then stop and reattach the thermostat and the hose down to the radiator, refill the new coolant and close the radiator cover from above. P.s. be sure that the engine is running during all these steps, the engine must be running also during adding the new coolant. How to change Coolant in a Cooling System?Yes, it's necessary! Yes, you have to drain it first! Imagine the bottom of your coffee pot, if you never rinse it out, what would it look like! Engine heat is the culprit! How to change Coolant in a Cooling System?yes you must drain it firstHow to change Coolant in a Cooling System?at the bottom of the radiator there is a thumb screw on most of them or just undo the bottom hose you need a big pan to catch it all not a hard thing to do and need done every few yrs... other that that you just add when low
