How to turn off(reset)coolant level warning dash light on 1995 Buick Roadmaster?

changed coolant and thermostat, coolant at proper level yet coolant level warning light stays on.Must turn it off, driving me crazy. How to turn off(reset)coolant level warning dash light on 1995 Buick Roadmaster? Its not really a sensor on those cars, its pretty much just a tab that pokes into the coolant. My guess is you dont have enough coolant in there. Those are pretty funky cooling systems. When you work on them you have to follow a specific procedure to fill and bleed the air out of the system. I dont remember what that process was but I know I was not able to get it bleed out the usual way you could do it on older cars.

More info about these cars so maybe someone can post the specific procedure for you.

This car is a full size rear wheel drive. Pretty much identical to a Caprice, Caprice cop car, Impalla SS, and Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham. It uses the 5.7 LT1 V8. Its the reverse cooled multiport injection with the opti spark distributor that is mounted under the cam driven water pump. There is no fill port on the radiator. It has a pressurized 'overflow' tank that has the cap on it. This was the base engine in the corvettes and the good engine in the Firebirds and Cameros of the era.How to turn off(reset)coolant level warning dash light on 1995 Buick Roadmaster?Sounds like you have a float gauge in your coolant reservoir tank which is either not plugged in or the float is not floating. How to turn off(reset)coolant level warning dash light on 1995 Buick Roadmaster?Umm well you probably should have had the battery unplugged so that the ecu isnt reading anything while you were working... But to get it reset the only thing i know is to unplug the negative wire and let ur car sit for about 1 minute, then plug the wire back in and wait for another minute, then start it back up...

When you unplug the negative be sure it does not touch anything on the car that is metal! How to turn off(reset)coolant level warning dash light on 1995 Buick Roadmaster?Usually the light works off the floater in the reserve tank,, but try taking

the battery off for a bit.. only if the coolant is where it should be.How to turn off(reset)coolant level warning dash light on 1995 Buick Roadmaster?it might be the sensorHow to turn off(reset)coolant level warning dash light on 1995 Buick Roadmaster?Your problem may also be a collapsed radiator hose. when you rev up the car the hose closes up . You can check them by having somebody rev the engine a bit. then watch the hoses and check if they are crushing down . replacing the hoses will take care of that. You also have to bleed the cooloing system after you add coolant when replacing anything that has to do with the cooling system. If you don't the light will stay on.How to turn off(reset)coolant level warning dash light on 1995 Buick Roadmaster? There isn't a shut off procedure for that light. When the sensor senses coolant then it would shut it off. That is if it is not faulty. I would bet that is the problem here.
