2001 Grand Prix GT 3800 SES light on after being serviced for coolant leak.?

The car had the upper %26amp; lower intake set replaced, all spark plugs, PVC valve, oil change, fuel filter %26amp; 2 coolant nipple elbows. In December of '07, Tranny service done. (Replaced gasket %26amp; filter %26amp; flushed cooling system %26amp; heater core.) New thermostat %26amp; gasket %26amp; replaced radiator hose! The codes were PO 128- coolant thermostat, PO141- heater sensors, %26amp; P1811- maximum adopt long shift. How can I reset the SES light? Do I have to unhook battery cable for this? I already tried the turn on key %26amp; pump gas 3 times within 7 seconds, this did not work.2001 Grand Prix GT 3800 SES light on after being serviced for coolant leak.?You could unhook the battery for an hour or so, this should clear the memory. You could also get a hand held code reader from somewhere like autozone and clear them yourself. However, by the sounds of it, the light will come back on in a short amount of time. How many miles is on your car, sounds like it might be time for a tranny rebuild. One of the worst things you can do to a transmission that is slipping is to change/flush the fluid. The new cleaning agents in the new fluid will strip what small amount of clutch material is left on the clutch packs inside your transmission.2001 Grand Prix GT 3800 SES light on after being serviced for coolant leak.?If the MIL stays on there is an emissions issue, wtih all that was changed take it back and say hey you forgot to hook something up

OH you just need to clear it, Ya do the 30 minute battery disconnect thing. They usually clear them selves if the issue has been resolved but as it was an EPA issue go to the parts store and get it reset that is the easiest, they'll do it for free. Or let you do it...
