so i have a coolant leak and i changed the water Pump and i got a new serpentine belt and added more coolant but its still leaking i bought a stop leak but im not sure how to use it or if it will work can anyone help me what do you think it is?My coolant is leaking? i have a 1998 chevy Cavalier?These are possible areas to look;
1. water pump
2. radiator
3. hose
4. bad cap
5. blown head gaskets, leaking internally

Did your coolant leak before? If not then it could be the installation. Perhaps you did not get a good seal. But it just as well could be a bad hose, bad radiator, loose connections, etc. Try and pinpoint where the fluid is coming from.My coolant is leaking? i have a 1998 chevy Cavalier?When you first detected the coolant leak, as Antonio M stated, you should have tried to find out what section of the cooling system it was leaking? Why did you replace the water pump/ Was the leak coming from the water pump drain or housing?My coolant is leaking? i have a 1998 chevy Cavalier?check the hoses, the coolant setup on your little I4 cavalier is just a bunch of rubber hoses connecting the engine block to the radiator. You could need new gaskets on your new water pump or your thermostat. Hoses dont need gaskets and they just simply need to be replaced. The radiator can leak but unless its damaged it wont just leak.
You could also try RTV sealant to help seal whatever is leaking to make a tighter fit, but dont use the leak stop as it just clogs up everything and then your low coolant sensors, temperature sensors, and anything else will go off becuase their clogged and cant sent the coolant.
