Does my 06 Ford Explorer need to have A/C recharged, or should I change antifreeze?

A/C isn't blowing as cold of air as it should be, I just bought it in March, so am unsure how old coolant is. Could this be related to the age of the coolant, or should the A/C be recharged?Does my 06 Ford Explorer need to have A/C recharged, or should I change antifreeze?Coolant will have nothing to do with the temp of your A/C. The freon in the A/C system is what determines the temp. Sounds to me like yours could be low or have a leak. Most places will run the vehicle through a machine that evacuates what is in the system and then adds dye to the new freon so they can test to see if there are any leaks in the system. Most times these leaks are caused by O rings on the coolant lines getting worn or dried out which is no big deal to fix, but if you have a leak at the evaporator core, than that can be costly to replace.

Freon can get low over time without any issues especially if the vehicle is over 5 years old. Having them add a little to the system usually is all it needs.

Just take it to a trusted mechanic and have them check it out. most times for a simple recharge it should cost between $65.00 to $120.00 depending on their labor rate and how many pounds of freon needed to be added.

Good Luck!Does my 06 Ford Explorer need to have A/C recharged, or should I change antifreeze? There different issue%26gt; Not related%26gt;Does my 06 Ford Explorer need to have A/C recharged, or should I change antifreeze?Recharge the a/c. Engine coolant has nothing to do with a/c.Does my 06 Ford Explorer need to have A/C recharged, or should I change antifreeze?Have the ac recharged. Not the antifreeze.

It is low on a charge.Does my 06 Ford Explorer need to have A/C recharged, or should I change antifreeze?coolant doesn't have any thing to do with the freon in the A/C unless the engine is overheating and the A/C is switching offDoes my 06 Ford Explorer need to have A/C recharged, or should I change antifreeze?if it has under 36000 miles bring back to dealer the fix is free!!Does my 06 Ford Explorer need to have A/C recharged, or should I change antifreeze?if you just got the car yes have the coolant flushed.no the two systems are not connected.if the a/c is not getting that cold go to a shop and have an a/c evac%26amp;recharge.when they do this sevice they will add oil and tracer dye.if it goes warm again they will be able to find the leak from the dye they added.in my shop the cost of the service is 59.95 evac/recharge.17.50 oil/dye-19.95 per pound of freon.cost for a two pound system is 117.35 plus tax.
