It looks like my coolant has oil in it, it is a rusty color... White smoke also comes out of my exhaust. .... Are these signs of bad piston rings? If so how would u change them on a 97 3.8l camaro? 2nd, like others said, it sounds like your problem isn't rings, but expensive repairs are in order.

Theres no coolant in the chambers to leak into the oil through rings.
Sounds more like a blown/leaking intake gasket or head gasket.. Also a cracked intake, head or block would do the same
