I have a 97 Acura 3.2 TL that keeps overheating. It was ok until it overheated on my sister, than after that I haven't been able to fix it. I've changed the radiator, coolant sensor, thermostat, water pump, and upper radiator hose. Just about all I can think about other than the head gasket. Every time I put in something new thinking it's the problem and take it for a test drive the pressure builds up so high that it pushes all the coolant out from the reservoir. Also as mentioned, is the cooling fan connected/kicking in?How do i fix overheating problem?a good way to know if it is the head gasket is to check for bad exhaust. if you have white smoke coming from the exhaust or any water leaking then it is definitely a blown head gasket. this sounds like an obstructed hose maybe a hose that leads to the engine collapsed or is clogged so u must check every single hose that has coolant running through it. if the coolant is pushing out of the reservoir it is not holding the pressure which means you need a new reservoir cap that may be the main issue. the reservoir cap has a gasket which may be worn out because im guessing you still have the stock one from 1997. I had the same problem with my car i have a 1995 grand am trust me things are going to start wearing out like this. check the reservoir cap if it looks deteriorated then replace it.

if you have a weak radiator cap, that will cause the coolant to be forced out of the radiator before it's time, take the cap to your local repair shop and have them test the cap, it should hold the pressure that is indicated on the top. usually it ranges from 13psi to 18 psi
