How often are you suppost to change the transmission oil, and coolant?

I have a 2008 Chevy Cobalt LS with 21,000 miles. I usully change the motor oil every 3,000 miles, but I have never changed the transmission oil or the coolant. Do i need to change it soon? How often are you suppost to change the transmission oil, and coolant? If you have red coolant, every 5 years. If blue every 3 years, if green, every year.

Manual transmission oil every 50,000 miles. Automatic transmission every 25,000 miles. Brake fluid every 50,000 miles. Power steering fluid every 50,000 miles. How often are you suppost to change the transmission oil, and coolant? The first thing you want to do is reach into your glove box and get your operators manual. It will give you the manufacturers schedule of maintenance. This does vary from manufacturers.

As a rule of thumb though you want to change your engines oil @ every 3000 miles. Some of the newer engines require synthetic oil and the intervals are much greater.

As far as antifreeze goes you want to check it every fall with an antifreeze tester. You can pick them up cheap at any parts store. Check your coolants protection level. A good 50-50 mix of ethanol glycol and water will put the protection at its best level.

If you can't find that operators manual all you need to do is call your local dealership that makes your make of car/truck. They will be more than happy to give you the information. How often are you suppost to change the transmission oil, and coolant?Transmission fluid, if it's an automatic, every 25,000 miles. Coolant once a year. How often are you suppost to change the transmission oil, and coolant?Coolant every 36,000 miles

Engine oil, every 2,000, why you ask does the engine stop running while you sit at a red light? You all could potentially have over 5,000 miles on your engine, and three thousand on the tires.
