I have a 2008 Chevy Cobalt LS with 21,000 miles. I usully change the motor oil every 3,000 miles, but I have never changed the transmission oil or the coolant. Manual transmission oil every 50,000 miles. Automatic transmission every 25,000 miles. Brake fluid every 50,000 miles. It will give you the manufacturers schedule of maintenance. This does vary from manufacturers.
As a rule of thumb though you want to change your engines oil @ every 3000 miles. Some of the newer engines require synthetic oil and the intervals are much greater.
As far as antifreeze goes you want to check it every fall with an antifreeze tester. You can pick them up cheap at any parts store. Check your coolants protection level. A good 50-50 mix of ethanol glycol and water will put the protection at its best level.
